Robbers Burgle Church, Cart Away N10m Property During Operation

Daredevil robbers have invaded and broken into the Fire Pentecostal Ministry church at Akinowo, Alimosho, Lagos State and and carted away property worth over N10m belonging to Pastor Chukwuma Peter.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened on 6th November, 2025, at the church premises.
The items stolen included two speakers with 24 channels each, one Yamaha Keyboard, two slave engine 500 Watts each, 200 plastic chairs all valued the said amount, properties of one Chukwuma Peter.
According to the Police, the robbers and others now at large conspired and broke into the church at night, carted away those items and escaped.
The complainant went to the Gowon Estate Division and reported the matter to the Police. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested and detained the suspects at the station for interrogation over the burglary and theft of the properties.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found them culpable and charged them before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The charges read:
COUNT 1: “That you Bayo Lawal “M”, Taiwo Yusuf “M” and others now at large on the 6th day of November, 2025, at about 07:15hrs, at No 78 Akinowo, Alimosho, Lagos in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conspire together to commit felony to wit: conspiracy and stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to Section 411 and punishable under Section 411 of the criminal law of the Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT 2:”That you Bayo Lawal “M”, Taiwo Yusuf “M” and others now at large on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did break and enter into Fire Pentecostal Ministry church and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 311 of the criminal law of the Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
COUNT 3:”That you, Bayo Lawal “M”, Taiwo Yusuf “M” and others now at large the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, steal 2 Speakers with 24 Channels each, 1 Yamaha Keyboard, 2 slave Engine 500 Wats each 200 Plastic chairs all valued Ten Million Naira (N10,000,000.00) only, property of one Chukwuma Peter “M” of Fire Pentecostal Ministry and thereby itted an offence contrary to Section 280 and punishable under Section 287 of the criminal law of the Lagos State of Nigeria, 2015.”
However, they pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Lucky Ihiehie, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since they pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that they actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.O. Tanimola, granted them bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendants were remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.
