Robbers Cart Away Company’s N50m Goods

A dare-devil robbers have invaded a company’s warehouse in Ijora, Lagos and carted away goods comprising motor batteries and spare tyres worth over N50 million.
The company is Milam Nigeria Limited, whose warehouse is located at Moshood Abiola Way, Ijora Badia area of Lagos.
Four security guards on duty on the day the incident happened have been arrested and charge before Apapa Magistrate’s court in connection with the robbery.
They are Okoli Patrick, 46, Mohammed Balamo, 39, Kachalla Babagana, 41 and Sunday Ozo, 29.
They were charged with conspiracy, stealing and negligence of duty under the Criminal code.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered the robbers storm the place in the night with arms but the security men who are now suspects reportedly ran away and went into hiding.
The robbers gained entrance into the warehouse and carted away the items with a vehicle and escaped.
In the morning when the management saw what happened, they asked to know from them what happened and where they were that night.
When the suspects did not give satisfactory answer, they were then handed over to the police for interrogation.
They were charged to court for the alleged offence.
They pleaded not guilty.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr Titus Abolarinwa granted them bail in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail.
The matter was adjourned till 5 November 2016.
