Robbers Invade Private Hospital, Attack Patients

Armed robbers reportedly invaded a private hospital in Lagos, attacked and robbed the patients receiving treatment there before breaking into houses within the area.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Awesome Grace hospital and other houses located at Akanro Street in Ilasamaja area of Mushin, Lagos.
Residents wondered what would have made the robbers to strike at the hospital, as it was believed that the patients were already indisposed.
However, one of the suspects, Mr. Adekunle Kabiru was later arrested. Police source said that the suspect and others now at large stormed the area at about 3am, attacked and robbed the victims.
Some of the victims were Mr. Morgan Eghosa and Olukemi Opeyemi who the suspects reportedly broke into their houses and carted away valuables before escaping. They were also dispossessed of their mobile phones and laptops.
The matter was reported to the police at Itire Division who moved into action and arrested Kabiru. The police did not state if the stolen items were recovered after Kabiru was arrested.
He was later charged before Isolo Magistrates court for conspiracy and stealing.
He pleaded not guilty.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kobenje granted Kabiru bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The prosecutor, Inspector Rita Momah did not object his bail because it was a bailable offence.
He was remanded in prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 5 May, 2018.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the police were making efforts to arrest the other suspects as Kabiru was said to have refused to name his accomplices during interrogation.
