Robbers Wreck Havoc At SLOT, Cart Away Millions

Dare-devil armed robbers invaded a branch of SLOT Communication Company Nigeria Limited in Lagos, carted away different products worth millions of Naira and escaped.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at the company’s branch located at Lekki Phase One area of Lagos in the early hours of the morning.
Police sources said that the armed men broke into the place, gained access to the shop, carted away expensive communication equipment and escaped.
Some of the items stolen from the SLOT shop included phones, laptops, software CDs among others worth millions of Naira.
The incident came as a surprise to many as they wondered that the company ought to have made private security arrangements to protect the place.
The robbery incident was reported to the operatives of FSARS who moved into action and arrested one of the buyers of the stolen items, one Mr. Paul Kon, 28.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that following the arrest of Mr. Kon, he confessed and took the police to the suspects who sold the items to him. The police arrested the suspects one Mr. Israel Uwadiae, 20 and Ogwugwu Godwin, 28, and they were taken to the State Command, Lagos.
At the Command, the three suspects were interrogated and they confessed their different roles while equally mentioning other accomplices said to be at large now.
They were charged before the Ikeja Magistrates court for conspiracy, burglary and stealing.
They pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Benson Emuerhi, did not oppose their being granted bail because the offence was a bailable one.
Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O. Sule-Amzat, granted them bail in the sum of N250, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition.
They matter was adjourned till 26th November, 2018.
P.M.EXPRESS gathered that the equipment which the robbers used for the operation were sophisticated which made it possible for them to gain access despite the security measures put in place by SLOT.
