Rousing Welcome For Oyetola At Govt Secretariat, As Civil Servants Celebrate Supreme Court Victory

The civil servants in Osun State were not left out of the celebration of the victory of Governor Gboyega Oyetola at the Supreme Court as they trooped out to welcome him to office on Monday at the Government Secretariat, Abere, Osogbo.

The Governor himself expressed his surprised with the action of the civil servants, saying it was an honour.

“I feel highly honoured by the unexpected and rousing welcome I was given by the civil servants right from gate of the Governor’s Office Secretariat Abeere on my resumption to the office today Monday 8th July, 2019.

“I remain grateful and plead all stakeholders’ cooperation, the welfare of the workforce and entire Osun indigenes home and abroad and indeed all residents is my number one priority,” the elated Governor said.

Adding: “Let us all in our respective posts contribute our quota conscientiously. Implementation of our key policies must be your topmost priority.”

Led by the state’s Head of Service (HOS), Mr Olowogboyega Oyebade, a victory reception by the workers to thank God for the victory of the Governor and his Deputy, Mr. Benedict Alabi for their victory at the Supreme Court was held at the Local Government Civil Service Commission Hall in Abere, Osogbo.

Also a get-together party was organised by the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi in Iragbiji on Sunday, The party took place at the palace pavilion in Iragbiji, the country home of Governor Oyetola. The party was organised by the Aragbiji to demonstrate the Oba’s appreciation to the good people of the State of Osun for their prayers, fasting and support for the truth that was recently affirmed by the highest court in the land, the Supreme Court of Nigeria.

The Governor told the gathering that “I am not APC Governor. I am Governor of the State of Osun”. He, however, reiterated his resolve to turn the state around by his developmental drive, while prompt payment of workers’ salaries will be his priority.

Meanwhile, while the state capital in Osogbo has been a beehive of activities for the Governor since the judgement of the Supreme Court was announced on Friday, local governments across the state are not left out in celebrating the Governor.

Chairman of Ife South Local Government, Hon. (Prince) Mufutau Adegbite in his congratulatory message noted that the victory was well deserved, while the validation of Oyetola’s mandate by the Supreme Court of Nigeria worthy of God’s praises.

Chairman of Ilesa East Local Government, Otunba Akeem Adesoji Olowoopeiobori rejoiced with the Governor with the implicit confidence the people of Osun have in him as their God-sent trustworthy leader, adding that “right from the onset, Ijesa APC whole heartedly identified and supported you because of your patriotic ideals, unbridled commitment to legacy and doggedness to build and develop State. We pray to God almighty to grant you wisdom and good health to steer the ship of Osun people to an enviable position.”
