NJOKU MACDONALD OBINNA

Thanksgiving is a show of appreciation for the good that one had received from another. In this context; from God, the giver of all good things!

As Christians, the Bible admonishes us to be thankful to God always in all things. When we deeply express gratitude or thanks for what has been done for us, we simply place ourselves in a position to attract even more blessings or favour.

In the light of the above, a grateful Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and undisputed standard flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the coveted seat of Nwangele Constitutency ahead of the 2023 general elections, in the company of his amiable wife, Lady Shirley Iwuanyanwu, Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Barr. Kennedy Ibeh, political associates, strategic party leaders, critical stakeholders, numerous supporters, well wishers and the entire Nwangele Project family under the dynamic leadership of Chief Paul Duru, on Saturday, 14th May, 2022, went for a thanksgiving service at the New Covenant Anglican Church, Amuzi Dim-na-Nume Isu, Nwangele LGA, Imo State.

Indeed, experience counts! While other political office seekers; both the contenders and pretenders have been flaunting their nomination and expression of interests forms online, taking pictures with their various parties’ State Organising Secretaries after procuring their forms, brandishing an elusive popularity in every political meeting just to gain attention, a rather God-conscious, proactive, cerebral and egghead wizkid – state legislator, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, had taken out time to critically reassess his legistive outings in the past three years, objectively scored himself, spotted a few areas that he needs to address, presented himself to God for wisdom and direction as he led creme da la creme of Nwangele stakeholders and critical  leaders for a thanksgiving; where he eventually presented himself for a re-election having performed creditably well to the chargrin of close observers, naysayers and other silent political detractors.

During his well captured speech with the title: ”Consolidated Capacity 2023″, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu, who is seeking re-election to consolidate on a number of his grassroots-oriented projects, programmes and policies across the 11 Wards in his constituency,  acknowledged the overwhelming collective mandate given to him across political parties to represent the good people of Nwangele Constitutency in the Imo State House of Assembly. Having made tremendous progress and worked very hard to advance and improve the lot of  his Constituency, it is also in order to give him the needed massive support to be relected to continue with his good works.

In his own words, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu posited: “Nwangele State Constitutency is a big shoe. All my predecessors from Rt. Hon. Akpaka, Rt. Hon. Amaechi Nwaoha, Rt.Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo performed creditably well to the extent they all rose to the position of Presiding Officers. Today, I have followed their footsteps. I am the Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly. I did not let you down and I will not let you down. God is my strength”.

Matching his words with action, especially, with a highly impressive scorecard, colourful political trajectory  and eventful legislative performance, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu has demonstrated the capacity to shoulder the responsibility of representing a very strategic Local Government area in Imo State; Nwangele, carefully judging by the various positions entrusted to him as a first timer and people-oriented projects practically executed:

• Chairman, House Committee on Housing.

• Chairman, House Committee on Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurial Skills.

• Chairman, House Committee on Business and Rules.

• Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly.

This is apart from the numerous postions,  State Government and party’s activities he had successfully executed.

Ironically, while other aspirants are presenting half-truths and empty promises as political manifestos as their supporters embark on campaign of calumny; all in attempt to whittle down the public acceptablity and sustainable growing popularity of Mr. Capacity, he has continued to talk less and do more with the following projects and programmes below:

• Single-handedly built and commissioned two ultra modern markets in Nwangele LGA; located at Nworie -Okpu Prosperity market Agbajah and Nkwoebu Abba Prosperity market, respectively. He didn’t stop at that, he also gave out millions of Naira as ‘starters  pack empowernment’  to over 300 women to begin trading in the market.

• Donations of transformers to communities in Nwangele LGA.

•  Cleared outstanding EEDC bills across Nwangele communities.

• Had his footprints and inputs in the appointments of Nwangele sons and daughters in the Shared Prosperity Administration under Gov. Hope Uzodimma.

• Construction of 2.4km Amuzi-Umuokparadim Road with a formidable drainage system.

• Constructed solar water boleholes in all the 11 wards in Nwangele LGA.

• Built a state of the art personage |house for New Covenant Anglican Church, Amuzi Dim-na-Nume.

• Built modern 4 bedroom bungalow houses for widows.

• Donated classical cars and motorcycles to members of his constituency.

• Distributed food relief materials with cash donations running into millions of Naira to Nwangele families; in order to caushion the ravaging effect of COVID-19.

• Single handedly sponsored N5M Capacity Youth Fotball Tournament as a way of discovering raw talents and grooming them into professional footballers.

• Paid for the registration of JAMB forms, WAEC fees and eventually secured provisional admissions for Nwangele students into differnt institutions of higher learning in Imo State.

• Facilitated bills and motions that have acted as strong catalysts in propelling the advancement of the 3R Administration under His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodimma.

The above are verifiable claims and established facts beyond mere rhetoric  and bogus unrealistic promises as we see the political jostlers move from ward to ward, house to house, to brainwash unsuspecting innocent people at home just to solicit their support as the election draws even closer. But the well informed and army of grassroots supporters of Mr. Capacity cannot be swayed or brainwashed  because;  ‘A  bird at hand is worth more than the hundreds in the bush”.

From High Chief Maurice Onwukwe (Imenaeme Nwangele), Nze Dom Njoku Apala, Chief Chris Anyiam, Chief Dona Nwaogu (Double Chief), Chief Mike Akwiwu, and several Nwangele  leaders who took turns to speak, made glowing remarks about the young legislative wizkid and Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu; for making members of his state constitutency very proud by his sterling legislative  performance, youth friendliness and people-oriented projects.

A critical stakeholder in Nwangele LGA and a Billionaire business mogul, High Chief Engr. Chimezie Nwosu, who pledged to donate the sum of  N2million for the Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms as a way of affirming  his solidarity and re-election bid of the lawmaker maintained in strong terms that;  the sterling performance of Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu had endeared him to Nwangele people across all political parties, called for massive support to send him back to the House for a second term in office to consolidate on the gains of the dividends of democracy he has brought home.

Traditional Prime Minister of Dim -Na- Nume Isu Autonomous Community, Chief Chinedu Ukadike (Eshi Agu), during a media briefing, ably coordinated by Njoku Macdonald Obinna, opined that Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu is the best export from Nwangele LGA to Imo State having maintained a very heartwarming relationship with the Governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma. He said, “Amara Iwuanyanwu has political clout, charisma, courage and massive followership across party divides. A very big asset to the Shared Prosperity Administration”.

The media lens of the reporter captured the following dignitaries in attendance:

• Rt. Hon. Kennedy Ibeh, Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly.

• Hon. Dr.C.C. Osuala , ImoCommissioner for Budget, Economic Planning and Statistics.

• Hon. Dr. Prosper Obinna Ohayaha, Imo Commissioner for Health.

• High Chief Johnbosco Ozigbu, PhD (Ogwuaga of Ogwuaga), ably represented by Chief Chukwuma Ozigbu.

• Prince. Eze Ugochuku (Ochiagha Nkwerre), Special Adviser to Imo governor on Public Enlightenment.

• Hon. Bobby Michaels,  SA Creative Arts and Culture.

• Hon.Olivatan Biaduo, SA Water Resources.

• Nze Chimex Osuala

• Chief Engr. Kenneth Ebubeagu

Others were:
• Barr. Nze  Franklin Iwunze (Ogbuagu Nkwerre), All Progressives Congress aspirant for Nkwerre State Constituency.

 • Barr .Nze Sir. Chisom Ted Ojukwu (Oyinatumba of Nkwerre), APC aspirant for Nkwerre State Constituency.

• Chief Ezekiel Chukwukere (I know this man)

• Nze Ukachukwu Ihekweaba

• Prince Ezeala Akano, among other political leaders and special guests.

However, the high point of the watershed event was the consensus endorsement of Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu as the sole candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the 2023 general elections, by Nwangele political stakeholders, critical leaders, LGA Executives, Ward executives, women leaders and the youths across party lines in the 11 wards that made up the Local Government area.

In the summary of his acceptance speech, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu posited: “I guarantee you, together, we will move Nwangele to greater heights. We will finish what we have started. I am still fired up. I am still ready to go. I still have the capacity to make Nwangele the envy of other local government areas in Imo State. I am still Mr. Capacity”.
“Thank you and may God bless you all.”
