A 54-year old dismissed Policeman, Femi John, has vowed to complete his service in the Nigeria Police Force despite the fact that he was sacked by the Authorities for gross misconduct.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect, John, by his age will be due to retire from the Police when he will be 60 and so may still have 6 more years to operate as a fake Police officer in Oyo State as he had vowed to continue till then.
He was arrested and paraded alongside other suspects by the Oyo State Police Command on Wednesday 13th May, 2020, and he made it clear why he will not stop the act of impersonation as a Police officer.
The Iseyin-born ex-Police officer, who had been arrested severally for the same offence, confessed to the crime but stated that it is the only way he knows he can feed his family.

He said: “It has been a while I’ve been into it. So I am not afraid to go to jail. Jail is not meant for goats, it is meant for human beings. After all, most of Nigeria’s top politicians also go to jail. I don’t rob; I am only using my entitlement to feed myself and my family”.“I do not regret my action; I am a Force man, so how can I regret? I am not a robber and I have never been to the highways to rob. I only create ways to feed myself and my children.”

The Police recovered fake Police boots, fake Police identification card and some other fake items as exhibits and were kept in Police custody. The suspect, John, will be charged before the Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment if he is tried and found guilty.Probably, the Police Authorities may find a way to accommodate John or permanently put him in jail because he seemed determined to continue to impersonate as a Police officer once he regains his freedom.
