Posted on October 5, 2018

Twenty-four governorship candidates have been cleared by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressive Congress (APC) after winning their respective states primaries

The APC listed Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Mallam Nasir El Rufai)(Kaduna), Mallam Aminu Bello Maisari (Katsina) and other 2candidates to have won their states primaries as confirmed by the party’s electoral committees which monitored the primaries across the states.

By this clearance, Sanwo-Olu and others have scaled the first hurdle in their bids to become the governors of their states with the coast clear for them to face the electorates who will decide their fates in the general election next year.

Lots of intrigues and controversies followed the emergence of some of the candidates before and during the primaries.

A statement release by Mr. Yekini Nabena, Acting National Publicity Secretary early on Friday reads as follows: “Following the Governorship Primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) held across the country, the Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) at its meeting held on Thursday, 4th October, 2018 ratified the reports of the various Electoral Committees and adopts the under-listed as Governorship candidates of the APC for the forthcoming 2019 general elections.
