A concerned citizen and stakeholder, Most Snr. Comrade Emeni Ibe, has appealed for peaceful conduct in the selection leading to the emergence of Eze Ekpeye Logbo 111 Of Ekpeye Land.

Voicing out his appeal, Ibe said, “Let me use this medium to appeal to our people in Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality to consider the overall interest of our Ethnic Nationality over above any interest by coming to together for a peaceful conduct of the process of producing a new Eze Ekpeye without bloodshed, as it has been 44 years since the first natural monarch of Ekpeye Ethnic Nation”.

“Eze Ashirim Edward Unoshi, was elected into the throne of Eze Ekpeye logbo after wining Chief J.D. Okukwu of Ubarama community and Chief Ochoma of Ahoada town, on the 4th of January 1960.”

After ruling the people of Ekpeye Ethnic Nation for the period of 29 years, King Ashirim Edward passed on to meet his ancestors on the 16th of March 1977.”

“After his burial on the 11th of August 1978, an election was conducted to fill the vacant stool of Eze Ekpeye logbo.
Chief Robinson Okpolunwo Robinson won Chief.C.U Ideozu, Chief. W. Owukori and Chief. Christian Okpara and immediately he was declared Eze Ekpeye logbo elect on the 28th April 1979.
King Robinson O. Robinson ruled the people of Ekpeye for the period of 39 years and died at the age of 79years in the year 2018.”

“It’s unfortunate since the burial of late Eze Ekpeye logbo king Robinson O. Robinson that the stool had been vacant for the past 3 years. And every effort to fill the vacant stool has been abortive based on interest from our natural rulers across the different Igbus.”

“Some Eze Igbus are of the opinion that the stool belongs to a particular kingdom, while some are opposing such claim. And because of this, many cases have been filed in the law Court.”

“I’m using this medium of the Ekpeye festival celebration to solicit to all the Eze Igbus and traditional makers in Ekpeye Ethnic Nation:

• HRM, Dr. Felix E. Otuwarikpo {Eze Igbu Upata Kingdom iii}
• HRM, Eze Joshua Eyiba {Eze Igbu Igbuduya  Kingdom ii}
• HRM, Hon. Okpokiri A. Maxwell {Eze Igbu Ubie Kingdom iv}
• HRM, Engr. Ihua Maduenyi {Eze Igbu Ahoada Kingdom i}
• HRM, Hon. Cassidy O. Ikegbidi {Eze Igbu Akoh Kingdom ii}

° HRH, Eze Ikaki S. Ikaki ( Eze Emene Okobo, Igbuduya kingdom And Chairman Ekpeye Council Of Cheifs and traditional Rulers).

° HRH, Dr. Chigemerem David ( Secretary Ekpeye Council Of Cheifs and Traditional Rulers) and all well meaning illustrious Sons and Daughters of Ekpeye Ethnic Nation, both at home and in diaspora to anticipate in order to ensure that the peaceful routine across all the Igbus in Ekpeye land exist.”

“Let me use the occasion of the Ekpeye festival to call on my good people of Ekpeye Ethnic Nationality to ensure the process of conducting who  becomes the next Eze Ekpeye logbo (III) is done peacefully without any waste of time and ensure withdrawal of all cases in Court or elsewhere” Comrade Emeni Ibe appealed.
