Senator Adeola Chides Senator Amosun Over 2019 Rigging Allegations, Says He Can’t Play God In Ogun Politics 

Senator Adeola, the Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance, in a statement he personally signed, said that these invidious utterances would have been left unanswered as yet another ranting from a personality imbued with a sense of over bloated ego of messianic proportion in Ogun State politics. However, with 2023 General Elections around the corner, it is appropriate to join issues with a supposed APC member with a record of serial anti-party and anti-people tendencies aping to play God in the affairs of Ogun State.

“As a stakeholder in APC, Ogun State and the administration of Prince Abiodun,  and by God’s grace and the will of the people, the senatorial candidate of Ogun West senatorial district for the 2023 election, I state with all emphasis that Senator Amosun shamefully dropped the ball in his assertion that the 2019 electoral victory of Prince Abiodun was rigged even after the said election was judicially validated right up to the highest Court of the land.”

“For the avoidance of doubt and to cudgel the memory of Senator Amosun and his political minions, the victory of Prince Abiodun in 2019 has its origin in the revolt of the majority of the people of Ogun State against Senator Amosun’s lopsided oligarchic reign in Ogun State over a period of 8 years and his undemocratic, odious and obviously politically greedy attempt to impose all electoral candidates in Ogun 2019 from the State to the Federal level with his cronies to the exclusion of all tendencies in Ogun State APC.”

“The revolt of the people of Ogun State to this attempt to play God by a mere mortal was what saw to the surprise emergence of Prince Abiodun as the arrow head of a democratic struggle fully supported by genuine democrats in Ogun State. Our party, APC, saw through the anti- democratic tendencies of their then governor and rightly threw their weight behind the people of Ogun State with Prince Abiodun emerging as the governor with a majority votes against Senator Amosun’s acolyte, Hon Adekunle Akinlade, foisted on misguided APC members in the race under another party, Allied Peoples Movement, APM.”

“The people of Ogun State were fully aware that the desperation of Senator Amosun to install a successor was informed by the booby trap of a “Kemi Adeosun” removal from office set for Hon. Akinlade should he emerge as governor which would see him impeached with his shady dossier should he refuse to be a mere stooge of the then departing Senator Amosun.”

“By a majority votes of 241,670 for Prince Abiodun and 222, 253 for APM’s Hon. Akinlade, a difference of over 19,000 votes, the Ogun State people rejected Senator Amosun and his imposition and the mandate was subsequently validated by our judiciary. So, it is regrettable nonsense that a man of the status of Senator Amosun will publicly say such a free and fair election validated by our judiciary was rigged. I challenge him to name those he alleged came to him to apologize for rigging.”

“To the glory of God, Prince Abiodun has discharged and is discharging his role as governor creditably to all sections of the state in contrast to the sectional administration of Amosun in Ogun State. He is dutifully completing projects abandoned by Senator Amosun while starting the completing new ones across the three Senatorial districts of the state. In the 2023 election, all genuine APC members and indeed appreciative Ogun State people enjoying infrastructure projects and other dividends of good governance of Prince Abiodun will fully support the re-election of Prince Abiodun and put Senator Amosun to shame once again in his glaring anti-party activities.”

“I use this medium to alert the National Working Committee of APC to these patently anti-party activities of Senator Amosun in Ogun State and to henceforth be wary of his moves and suggestion on any matter. As it is, he is already plotting a repeat APM against his party APC in the days towards 2023. But genuine APC members are solidly behind Prince Abiodun as our Governor and will support his re-election in 2023” Senator Solomon Adeola, the Aremo of Yewa land concluded.
