Following the extension of the month old COVID-19 lockdown by the Federal Government, the Chairman Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Solomon Adeola, has partnered with the Lagos State Government to provide massive food relief for all the 10 Local Government Areas and 18 Local Council Development Authorities of Lagos West.

The Senator, who had earlier done cash palliatives for constituents across the Senatorial District as well as communication palliative, said the last week of the total lockdown is critical adding that the distribution will commence immediately to reach recipients.

“While it is not possible for the food items to go round millions of constituents that will need them, I have directed that the distribution should be targeted at those most in need of sustenance at this point” he stated.

Senator Adeola urged constituents to adhere to all precautionary measures rolled out by health authorities stressing that just as Ebola disease was defeated Coronavirus pandemic will also be defeated in due course.

He called on constituents to always wash their hands regularly, use sanitizers on their hands and surfaces, embrace social distancing as well as imbibe new forms of greetings and salutations with hand shaking and body contact.
