Senator Adeola Urges Supporters, Nigerians Not To Lose Hope Over Postponement

Posted on February 16, 2019

Following the regrettable one week postponement of the Presidential and National Assembly election by INEC in the early hours of the election day, Senator Solomon Adeola(APC, Lagos West), the Chairman of Senate Committee on Local Content, has called on his massive supporters across the length and breadth of Lagos West, the largest senatorial district in Nigeria in terms of population, and other Nigerians, not to lose hope in the electoral process as challenges such as this often dogs nascent democracy in search of credible and qualitative election.

In his swift reaction to the postponement after a grueling campaign tour across 10 Local Governments and 18 LCDAs of his district which ended Wednesday, Senator Adeola expressed optimism of clinching the seat in the election for Lagos West Senatorial seat and urged his supporters not to despair or be demoralized as delay is not denial to eventual victory in a week’s time.

“I am disappointed at the last minutes postponement of this election that by God’s grace I was coasting home to win. But in all things, we give thanks to Almighty God and pray for our country to perfects its electoral system to avoid glitches such as this. I have been a victim of this kind of postponement twice in the past in 2011 and 2015 and on each occasion I came out victorious for House of Representatives seat and Senate respectively. This election will not be different as “victoria ascerta” next Saturday” Senator Adeola stated.

Senator Adeola restated his call for the electorate to vote for APC and its candidates in all election as it is inconceivable and would be disastrous for Nigeria to return PDP back to power under any guise after 16 years of bad governance and looting of the nation’s resources.
