In what was her 8th empowerment since she assumed office as the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Senator Uche Ekwunife (Iyom) on Monday, January 25, 2021, gave out several units of tricycles, otherwise known as Keke NAPEP to some of her constituents.

The keys of the tricycles were given to the beneficiaries at the ever busy Senator Uche Ekwunife Centre Awka.

Speaking at the event, Ekwunife stated that the distribution of the tricycles was part of her commitment to ensure that people were not badly affected by the economic challenges of the present time. She noted that the Tricycles were meant to assist the beneficiaries in venturing into transportation business or any other venture that may require movement of goods and services. She further stated that the Keke Napep would also be used to support the activities of the Peoples Democratic Party in the various wards.

“This is the 8th empowerment we are doing in the last 18 months. Aside many batches of tricycles we have distributed, we have given out other items, goods and appliances to support our people who are desperately in need of economic relief and support. On a consistent basis, items such as Industrial Irons, Sewing Machines, Generators, Fridges, Sienna Buses Et al, are being given out to constituents, and we are committed to doing more”, Ekwunife said.

Handing over the tricycles, Ekwunife restated her commitment to attract more dividends of democracy to Ndi Anambra Central, which include her supporters, members of the PDP at the Ward, LGA and State levels and all well meaning constituent of the Senatorial District.

Jude Umejeh, Calista Anatuanya, Samson Ezigbo, Chinenye Nwokoli, Obiageli Okoye and many other beneficiaries who spoke, could not contain their joy. They extolled Senator Ekwunife for impacting their lives by giving them a means of economic survival at this trying time, and prayed God to continue to sustain her in her efforts to touch the lives of the people.

This gesture by the quintessential Senator, again drives home her passion towards ameliorating the suffering of the masses. While some call her Oji Uno Eme Ogo for the houses she is constructing for some less privileged families, others call her Madam Project for the over 27 road projects as well as other projects she has attracted to the Senatorial District.

Truly, Anambra Central has never had it this good, and one would expect that the principles of ‘the reward for good work is more work’ will apply, as the Lady With The Midas Touch seeks to expand her reach of good governance through her aspiration to become the next Governor of Anambra State.
