During his Interactive Tour and Town Hall Meeting with Edo people in the diaspora (USA Chapter), Senator Monday Okpebholo, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Edo State, announced his commitment to establishing a fully-fledged diaspora office to support Edo citizens living abroad.

Hon. Oyakhilome Bello, the APC-USA National Youth Leader, was present at the event, where Sen. Okpebholo addressed the Edo community in the United States, reaffirming his dedication to creating a diaspora office that will oversee the interests and well-being of Edo citizens living abroad.

Senator Okpebholo emphasized the importance of consulting the Oba of Benin on key issues affecting the state and people, a departure from the hostile approach of the current government.

He also pledged to adopt the Diaspora Commission Establishment Bill of 2017, which will enable the creation of a dedicated office to coordinate the contributions of diasporans to the development of Edo State. This move aims to harness the skills and resources of Edo citizens abroad, who are eager to contribute to the progress of their home state.

Senator Monday Okpebholo’s commitment to establishing a diaspora office and consulting the Oba of Benin on key issues demonstrates his dedication to inclusive governance and the progress of Edo State.

With the support of Hon. Oyakhilome Bello and the APC-USA, Sen. Okpebholo is poised to bring about a new era of development and prosperity to Edo State, and his pledge to engage with the diaspora community is a significant step towards achieving this goal.

As the elections approach, the people of Edo State have a clear choice to make. They can choose to continue down the path of hostility and division, or they can opt for a new era of inclusivity and progress. By supporting Sen. Monday Okpebholo and his vision for a diaspora office, the people of Edo State can take a crucial step towards realizing their full potential and creating a brighter future for themselves and their children.
