Senator Tejuoso Set To Host Annual Egba Dialect And Choral Competition

The senator representing Ogun Central Senatorial District and the Chairman Senate Committee on Health, Senator Dr. Lanre Tejuoso, will be hosting the grand finale of an annual competition he had organised for his constituents in Ogun State.

The preliminaries of the annual competition tagged ‘Annual Egba Dialect Debate And Choral Competition’ had earlier been concluded in the six local government areas in Ogun Central Senatorial District.

The topic for the annual debate is: ‘Technology: A Threat To Our Cultural Values’ (Akoba Ni Eko Imo Ero Je Fun Agbekale Asa Wa).

The grand finale of the competition will be holding on Friday 6th July, 2018, at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Oke Mosan, Abeokuta, Ogun State, by 9.00am

In a chat with P.M.EXPRESS, Senator Dr. Lanre Tejuoso, said that the noble initiative which was targeted at secondary schools in his senatorial district was geared towards making his young constituents embrace the Egba culture and dialect. According to the distinguished senator who is also a prince of the Oke-Ona Egba stock, promoting culture through the debate and choral competition will help preserve the Egba heritage as we were gradually losing our cultures, languages and dialects to technology and foreign languages. The senator also assured that this year’s edition will be better than the previous one.
