Should Governor Adeleke Not Resign?

The Osun State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has called for the immediate resignation of Governor Ademola Adeleke following a viral video that depicts him humorously misrepresenting the Nigerian national anthem.
This incident, while seemingly trivial to some, highlights a significant lapse in the Governor’s adherence to the respect and seriousness demanded by his office. The call for his resignation is not merely a political maneuver but a necessary step to preserve the dignity and integrity of his position.
The national anthem is more than a song; it is a profound symbol of Nigeria’s unity, history, and pride. For a governor, the highest-ranking official in his state, to fail in accurately singing it is an indication of a lack of preparedness and respect for national symbols.
