Shun Criminality Or Move Out, AIG Adamu Warns Robbers In Lagos, Ogun States

Robbers, operating within Lagos and Ogun States, have been warned to change, shun criminality or move out of the states because they will not have space to operate.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the warning was given by the AIG in charge of Zone 2 Headquarters, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Shehu Adamu.

This is coming after the newly inaugurated Operation Puff Adder operatives smoked out bandits in their hideouts and arrested over 100 suspected criminals while recovering cache of arms as exhibits.

AIG Adamu said that those arrested were suspected kidnappers, cultists, armed robbers and others. Also recovered were 145 arms including 100 locally made guns, 45 pump action guns, 8 AK47 rifles,
assorted charms and 400 live ammunition,

Adamu said that the police were determined to flush out criminal elements including the herdsmen who want to cause crises in the zone in order to protect lives and property.

While parading the suspects, AIG Adamu said that Operation Puff Adder, which was recently launched by both Lagos and Ogun State Commands, was aimed at fighting violent crimes including the menace of herdsmen/farmers crises, kidnapping, armed robbers, cultism, banditry, land grabbing, rape and among others.

He stated that the briefing on the achievements will be monthly and the police were ready for the tasks ahead in the protection of lives and property as they have embarked on training and retraining of officers for the tasks.

“In order to achieve all these, we organized local training and retraining of our personnel on required operational skills and knowledge”

He warned the officers on abuse and corruption saying the Zone has set up Monitoring and X-Squad units to ensure that the officers in patrol or essential duties work in conformity with the IGP’s directive.

“Thus the Commissioner of Police in charge of Lagos and Ogun State Commands have been warned to be proactive and live up to their responsibilities as any dereliction of duty will be viewed seriously” Adamu said.
