Searching for greener pastures abroad comes with different stories and different experience. To some, it is a story they don’t want to tell anybody because the search for a better living has turned to be an ugly experience making them to become a grace to their families and countries, while to some, it is a lifetime time sweet experience that has not only change their lives, but has made them become ambassadors of their countries.

Before Simeon Oluwole left the shores of Nigeria few years back, he had it at the back of his mind that he was going abroad not only to make it, but also to ensure that he carve a niche for himself in his chosen career.

While sharing his experience to a United Kingdom-based independent Pan African News Website, Alternativeafrica.com, the Ondo State-born Engineer said: “I started my engineering career from Nigeria, over 15 years ago from Yaba College of Technology where I obtained Higher National Diploma, HND in Electrical Engineering. I was privileged to work with two multi-international companies, Dunlop Tyre and Diagoe Group as Electrical Engineer between year 2001 and 2005 before I relocated to United Kingdom to further my education. Dunlop Tyre and Diagoe Group introduced me to the world of electrical engineering.”

Though when Oluwole landed in the UK, it was not a bed of Roses, his determination not to derail in his vision and purpose of travelling abroad were the driven forces that made him weathered the storm in those trying times on a land far away from his fatherland.

“When one is away from home, you will face two options, either to make it or to fail both yourself and the family back home. Depending on the one you choose out of the two, you will discover that all resources to excel in the two options are available in the advanced countries. I choose the option that I want to succeed and make a name for myself in this foreign land. I grabbed every opportunity avail to me. I enrolled to study Petroleum Engineering in the South Bank University in London. I graduated with a degree.

He told Alternativeafrica.com how he worked in the past 13 years with different UK companies such as Dairy Crest, Green core, Hanson Cement, Saica Group, United Biscuits, West Midlands Train as Maintenance Engineer.

With educational and job experience in Nigeria coupled with the experience in the UK; Oluwole decided that it was high time he becomes an employer of labour instead of working for people. This led to the establishment of Simeon Oluwole Investment Company Ltd five years ago.

“I thank God for the wisdom behind the creation of Simeon Oluwole Investment Company Ltd. It is a product of hard work, self denial, discipline and more importantly the Grace of God.

“While we are having the headquarters of the company in the UK, we have the Nigerian Office in Surulere in Lagos. The plan is to spread our nets to all nations in Africa, first with West African sub region.

“We are opened to partnership with reputable companies in Nigeria and Africa which share the same vision and core values of premium service delivery with us,” Oluwole told P.M. EXPRESS in an interview.
