SM Jury Honours Leo Da-Silva, Asiri Comedy, Others At OAU

It was a beehive of activities on 23 November 2018 at the Moot and Mock Court of the Faculty of Law, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU)  as the SM Jury in partnership with Prima Strata Club brought together thought leaders to discuss Social Media for Growth.

The Convener of the Social Media Jury and award winning Public Relations Consultant, Tonia Odili challenged students to take advantage of Social Media and its opportunities.  She added that this is “an initiative geared towards creating a community of young entrepreneurs who believe in themselves and are ready to put their creative minds to use during and after school.”

The event was attended by ex- housemate at the just concluded Big Brother Naija, Leo Da-Silva, Nollywood actor Seun Ajayi, Comedian and motivational speaker Asiri Comedy , Entertainment Lawyer Tayo Fashesin and the CEO of Instant Pick- Up , Ubi Franklin.

According to Seun Ajayi, “we are in the world of digital democracy. There is a digital democracy and we are in the ‘broadcast yourself’era”.

In the words of Asiri Comedy, ”Social media is the current GOLD MINE and if you are not on this space, you are missing out” . Leo Da-Silva said that growth is very important and shouldn’t be joked with. ”You can go to the top with a good and consistent strategy”. Ubi Franklin who joined the conversation via skype also shared his wealth of experience to the students.

The highpoint of the event was the presentation of an award of Excellence to all the Panelists by the Convener of the SM Jury, Miss Tonia Odili and the President of the Prima Strata Club, Mr Jiboye Toluwani David.

The Panelists also thanked the organizers for providing a platform like this to share their wealth of experience thereby giving back to the Society.

The event which witnessed a huge turnout of undergraduates and staff of the school was moderated by on air personality , Onoge Tega Ben.

The SM Jury in partnership with Prima Strata was proudly packaged by Salimo Wits Foundation, Tecno Mobile, Wilson Lemonade Juice and 360Nobs.
