Societal Concerns Commences Capacity & Drone Intelligence Training For Security Personnel in Lagos

In a strategic move to enhance security coordination and modern policing techniques, Societal Concerns has commenced a comprehensive capacity-building and drone intelligence training for security personnel in Lagos State.

The training programme, which brought together no fewer than 155 security operatives, features participants drawn from various agencies including the Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Neighborhood Safety Agency (LNSA), Nigeria Forest Security Service (NFSS), and other critical security sectors.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening inter-agency collaboration, promoting the adoption of modern technological intelligence, and deepening community policing efforts across the state.

Dignitaries present at the event included the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA) spokesperson representing Oshodi-Isolo Constituency, and Chairman, House Committee on Information, Strategy and Security, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe; Assistant Inspector-General of Police, AIG Omolara Ibidun Oloruntola; the Commandant of the Police College; as well as representatives of the Chairmen of Ipaja-Ayobo and Apapa-Iganmu Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs), among others.

The training commenced with a lecture titled “Advancing Public Safety through Community-Centered Security Strategies,” delivered by ACP Barrister Ajanaku Ibrahim (Esq), who emphasized the importance of building trust between security agencies and the communities they serve. Additional sessions covering technical and operational aspects of drone intelligence and security management were facilitated by other experts, with participants also engaging in hands-on field practicals.

In his remarks, Hon. Stephen Ogundipe commended the leadership of Societal Concerns for spearheading the initiative, noting that the integration of modern technology remains crucial in addressing contemporary security challenges.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Oluwayomi Oluwapelumi, President of Societal Concerns, urged participants to remain committed to their duties, describing them as “the true number one citizens” responsible for safeguarding the nation.

She further noted that the training would continue with more intensive practical sessions and personalized training modules, with certificates scheduled to be awarded to participants upon completion.

The programme underscores Societal Concerns’ commitment to advancing security capacity, fostering collaboration among agencies, and leveraging innovation to build safer communities.
