Soludo Launches Anambra Geographic Information Service

Posted on March 7, 2025

Governor Charles Soludo has launched the Anambra Geographic Information Service (ANAMGIS), a significant milestone in the state’s efforts to modernise land administration.

ANAMGIS provides an automated land authentication and certification system, making it easier for the people of Anambra to access land services.

This milestone signposts Governor Soludo’s pragmatic approach to innovation in his laudable performance in governance and ongoing infrastructural and transformation agenda in making Anambra a destination for the benefits of the people.

In a statement by the State’s Commissioner for Information, Law Mefor, the Anambra State Executive Council (ANSEC) commended Governor Soludo’s launch of ANAMGIS, and his award as the Sun Newspaper’s Governor of the Year, which was dedicated to the Solution Team (ANSEC), stakeholders, and the people of Anambra State.

It would be recalled that two decades ago, eight national dailies, including the Sun Newspapers, named Soludo ‘The Man of the Year’ for his modest contributions to recalibrating the Nigerian financial institutions when he was the was the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Interestingly, the Sun award comes on the heels of Governor Soludo’s recent award as the best-performing governor in primary healthcare delivery in the Southeast and Nigeria, overall. This was presented by the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF), the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the Aliko Dangote Foundation, the Federal Ministry of Health, and the United Nations Children and Education Fund (UNICEF).

Governor Soludo’s innovative leadership also earned Anambra State the fourth position in the recent evaluation of BudgIT’s State of States 2024 Report for overall fiscal performance and sustainability.

The BudgIT’s ranking reflects Anambra State’s exceptional performance in both fiscal and healthcare metrics.

The feat came at a time when many States were struggling with fiscal sustainability and healthcare delivery challenges, and it attests to Soludo’s thriving model of fiscal responsibility, credible leadership, healthcare, and economic management prowess.
