The Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo, on Sunday, April 24, 2022, visited the Igbo Ukwu country home of former Anambra State Govermor, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, whose late wife and former first lady of Anambra State, Mrs Njideka Ezeife was laid to rest recently.

Governor Soludo during the condolence visit commiserated with Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife and family members over the death of Mrs. Njideka Ezeife.

Governor Soludo described the late Mrs Ezeife as a woman of strong and impeccable character who stood firmly with her husband as the first democratically elected Governor of Anambra State when the State was created on August 27, 1991.

Governor Soludo further said the late Mrs. Ezeife’s courageous disposition and her supportive role as wife and mother during her husband’s administration will always be remembered.

Governor Soludo therefore, comforted Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife, who is also a prominent Igbo leader and an elder statesman, over the painful loss of his dear wife and prayed that God grant the deceased eternal rest and the Ezeife’s family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Mrs. Njideka Ezeife reportedly died after a brief illness in an hospital in the United States of America late last year
