The 2023 general election is gradually gaining momentum as the Zonal Coordinator of South East APC Professional Women Council, Chief (Dr) Vivian Obi, has begun mobilization of women ahead of the elections in Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that over 500 women from the various Local Government areas of the State converged at the APC Secretariat in Isolo, Lagos State, to attend the inaugural meeting organised by Dr Obi and registered their membership.
The State Executives were also constituted and they were empowered with leadership training on the roles they were expected to play to mobilize women for APC both in the States and at National level.
Dr Obi was recently appointed as the Zonal Coordinator of the group by the National body in a letter of appointment dated 21st September, 2022 and signed by the National Coordinator, Ronke Soyombo, with terms of reference to the Coordinator to mobilize professional women for the APC.
Speaking at the event, Chief Dr Obi explained that it was her first official assignment as the Southeast Zonal Coordinator and the purpose was to host, mobilise and empower the women in capacity building in the Lagos Diaspora chapter of the task ahead for the Party.
She stated that the terms of reference cut across all the States in the Southeast and her next move is to move to the Southeast for the capacity building and mobilization of members.
She hinted that the group was getting encouraging responses as one of the patrons of the group, Chief Leonard Okafor, has donated an office at Ilasamaja area of Lagos State for operational purposes in the State.
She further stated that as the Zonal Coordinator, she will embark on setting up offices in the Southeastern region and will inaugurate the executives in the various states to ensure that the group is strong for the benefit of APC.
Waoh! So proud of you.
