South West NURTW Appoints MC Oluomo As Acting Chairman

The leadership and executive members of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has appointed Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, as the acting South West Chairman of the union.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the union”s leadership appointed Akinsanya as the Acting Chairman of South West on Thursday was announced during the Zonal Conference held at Zone 2, Council Secretariat in Osogbo, the Osun State capital.
In the presence of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, the union pleaded for the activities of NURTW in their states to be reinstated.
The presiding officer, Nasiru Komolafe said, “We are supposed to have six states in Zone 2, but unfortunately, we have only two states working. The other four states are not working”.
“But we have just been informed that Ogun has lifted the ban and operations will start immediately.”
According to the NURTW leadership, Akinsanya will be in acting capacity as chairman of the zone pending the time when the election would be held later this month.
“The reinstatement would afford the zone the opportunity to nominate candidates for the National President of the union zoned to South West” Nasiru Komolafe said.
