Posted on July 7, 2024

In a show of solidarity, the Southern Youth Foundation and opinion leaders from the Niger Delta region have vehemently rejected calls for the removal of Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku-led NDDC Executive Management.

The groups, comprising prominent youth leaders and stakeholders, described allegations against the management as “fake, false, baseless, unfounded, and unsubstantiated”.

In a press statement signed by Most Snr. Comr. Amb. Emeni Ibe, National President of the Southern Youth Foundation, and other leaders, the groups praised Chief Dr. Samuel Ogbuku for his efforts in engaging with the people of the region through the Niger Delta Stakeholders Summit. They commended his commitment to listening to their plight and approving their demands, demonstrating a dedication to the development agenda of the Niger Delta region.

The groups condemned the calls for removal by a group called Pan Niger Delta Youth Leaders as “premature and distracting” from the region’s development goals. They urged the Presidency to disregard the petitions and allow the current management to complete their good work and submit an unbiased report to the President.

The Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria and opinion leaders also commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR for the appointment of Chief Samuel Ogbuku-led NDDC Executive Management and called for unity and cooperation among stakeholders in order to achieve the vision and Renewed Hope Agenda for the Niger Delta region.

The endorsement of Chief Samuel Ogbuku’s leadership underscored a unified voice in support of continuity, efficiency, and progress within the NDDC, heralding a renewed sense of optimism for the region’s development trajectory.

The statement was signed by:

1. Most Snr. Comr. Amb. Emeni Ibe (National President, Southern Youth Foundation)

2. Hon. Mrs. Blessing Opara (Secretary General, Southern Youth Foundation)

3. Comr. James Eko (Niger Delta Youth Leader)
