Sports Ministry Shakes Up Federations, Swap Secretaries

At long last and succumbing to intense pressure from stakeholders, the Sports Ministry on Wednesday finally carried out the long overdue shake-up of the sports federations.

The  reorganisation  brought to a close weeks of anxiety and speculations in the sports sector. 

Below is the new set up of the federations.

ATHLETICS(Niyi Beyioku)

AQUATICS(Sani Mohammed) BOXING(Dapo Akinyele), BASKETBALL(Peter Njoku), CHESS(Olabowale Adeosun), CYCLING(Makpa Shammah), WEIGHTLIFTING(Melvina Apeh), JUDO(Abass Wosilat)

TAEKWONDO(Kabir Yusuf)

ROWING AND YATCHING (Bunmi Oloude), WRESTLING (Mohammed Maigidasanma), TENNIS(Abolude Oludayo), HANDBALL(Umar Landobu)

RUGBY(Joel Akinluwa)

SQUASH(Otumola Monica), GOLF(Ademisoro Oluwasegun)

WUSHU KUNGFU(Chimezie Asiegbu), PARA SOCCER (Friday Solomon), TRADITIONAL SPORTS (Shehu Guti), KARATE(Maikano Adamu)
