Stanbic Bank Staff Docked For Duping Customers N3m

A 39-year old staff of Stanbic Bank. Mr Muhammad Balogun has landed in prison after he allegedly defrauded seven bank customers to the tune of N3m in Lagos.

The incident happened at the bank branch at Abesan Estate area of Ipaja, Lagos where Balogun was employed as the bank’s staff.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the suspect convinced the victims to open account with the bank and assured them of favourable interest. They all agreed and gave him the money to open accounts in the bank for them.

Some of the victims allegedly defrauded by Balogun were Ahmed Abubakar, Isah Ohiwale, Aisha Shola, Adeniyi Jamiu and others.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that when they paid the money, he converted it to his personal use and did not open any account as they had agreed. He reportedly lied to the victims that the bank was processing their account details which had no definite period.

However, when the victims went to the bank and made inquiry, it was discovered that he did not open any account or pay the money to the bank.

The matter was reported to the police, he was arrested and charged before Ogba Magistrates court for obtaining under false pretence.

He pleaded not guilty.

The presiding Magistrate, Mrs. M.I. Dan-Oni granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
He was remanded in prison pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 7 December, 2017.

    Good afternoon am one of the victim shakirat,am Even the won that get him arrested, because bank is not ready to look for him,my husband always did viginlanta,on his strt,I suspected his bank manager, he said 36m pass through Muhammed balogun acct within 6mnt,the person that is collecting 50000 in a month,so how come,and he will go through there daily basis work,because I was their one day when Muhammed said,manager will talk if he did not meet up the target and he do collect discount on each person, now they have change some of there staff
