Respected group, the Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria, SYF, has strongly condemned the attack of a Police Division in Ipele, Ondo State.
In a statement signed by the National President, Amb. Comrade Emeni Ibe (JP AP), the SYF said, “It is a sad development and we strongly condemn the Wednesday night attack on the Police Divisional Headquarters in Ipele community, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State”.
“We hereby call on the Police authorities for thorough investigation of the circumstances surrounding the attack with subsequent arrest and prosecution of the criminal elements behind invasion of the Divisional Headquarters.”
“While we commend the Ondo State Police Command for bringing the situation under control, the Police will have to set in motion proactive measures and intelligence to forestall future attempts by criminal elements.”
“We strongly condemn the attack but thank God that no life was lost. We are rather worried about the logistics challenges and attendant impact of the destruction on the operations of Police personnel in the area with the level of exhibits and evidences destroyed.”
