Posted on April 23, 2024
The leadership of the Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria in conjunction with Opinion Leaders and Youth Groups has passed a Vote of Confidence on the leadership of Chief Samuel Ogbuku Led NDDC Executive management.
The decision was taken at the end of an Executive Management roundtable conference with opinion leaders and youth groups on 21st April, 2024, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The leadership of the Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria called on the Presidency to ignore calls and disregard purported petitions against the NDDC Executive Management as premature and distractive. The SYF posited that the constant removal or dissolution of previous boards and management is a clear reason for the underdevelopment of the region in spite of the funds released to the agency over the years. According to the SYF, dissolutions of the previous boards led to abandonment of projects and programmes, which should have benefited the people in the region.
Speaking about the passing of the vote of confidence, Most Snr Comrade Amb Emeni Ibe, National President Southern Youth Foundation of Nigeria, said, “Our people are confident of the present board and management. We therefore, appeal to the so called petitioners to close ranks and work with Chief Samuel Ogbuku led NDDC Executive Management in order to move the Niger Delta Region forward in line with the vision and Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu”.
“We hereby pledge our total support to the Chief Dr Samuel Ogbuku led Executive Management because we strongly believe in their capacity to move our region forward and they should be supported by all stakeholders.”
