The Deputy Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Hon. Mohammed Gwampo, has reportedly been impeached.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that Hon Gwampo was impeached after the motion for the impeachment was raised by the former Majority Leader, Hon. Albasu Kunini, representing Lau State Constituency, over alleged lack of competence to discharge his duties.

Following his impeachment, the Taraba House subsequently elected Hon. Charles Maijankai, representing Karim Lamido I State Constituency, as the new Deputy Speaker. Maijankai until his election as the new Deputy Speaker was the Majority Leader of the House.
