Tenant, 25, Docked For Stoning Landlady Over Electricity Bill

A female tenant, Mrs. Adebowale Memunat, has landed in trouble in Lagos State for allegedly treating her landlady, Mrs. Adeyeye Omobolanle, as thief by using stone to hit her on the forehead over electricity bills. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Yomi Alake Street, Igando area of Lagos, where Mrs. Memunat rented a flat apartment with her husband.
She has been arrested and charged for  conduct likely to cause breach of public peace and assault.
The tenant was said to have been angry that the landlady hides and does not show them the electricity bill since they moved into the flat and the landlady usually demands any amount of money she felt like from them as electricity bill.
However, on Saturday 22nd July, 2023, the landlady was said to have gone to demand for outrageous electricity bill unknown to her that they were aware of the new bill. Mrs. Memunat was said to have treated her like thief by shouting in the neighbourhood, eventually hit her with a stone and injured her in the process.
The matter was reported to the Police at Igando Division and the female tenant, Memunat, was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
After rounds of interrogation, the Police found her culpable for treating the landlady like a thief by stoning her and subsequently charged her before the Ejigbo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence.
Memunat pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned
The prosecutor, Supol Benedict Aigbokhan, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. A.K. Dosumu, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and one of the sureties must be a blood relation with evidence of tax payment.
The matter was adjourned till 4th September, 2023, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
