Tenant Who Paid N300k To Buy House Duped

A tenant, Mr. Bala Haruna who wanted to become a landlord and paid a paltry sum of N300,000 to buy a house from one Abiodun Abolade has been duped in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Fire junction, around the pipeline in Ijegun, Lagos where they resided and the house was located.

It was scooped that Mr. Abolade had collected the money, bolted away and claimed that Haruna only lend the money to him and not to buy his property worth millions of Naira for such amount of money.

It was gathered that Haruna cajoled Abolade and asked him to sell his house to him. They then negotiated and settled for the said amount.
However, after he had made payment, Abolade bolted away, used the money to solve his personal problem and refused to release the house documents to him as they had agreed.

The matter was reported to the police at Isheri Oshun Division, Abolade was arrested and charged to court for fraud.

The residents expressed surprise how the complainant believed that he would buy the bungalow for that amount and paid the money to the suspect.

The suspect was charged before Isolo Magistrates court for obtaining under false pretence and stealing.

He pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Mr. Oje Uagbale did not object to his bail but rather asked the court to give a short adjournment for the trial to commence.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.A. Teluwo granted Abolade bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The defendant was remanded in the prison custody pending when he will perfect his bail condition.
The matter has been adjourned till 16 May, 2018.
