TG/PS Education District II Monitors Schools’ Resumption
In a bid to ensure compliance by Teachers and Students in Education District II, the Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Anike Adekanye, in the company of Education Directors in the District, monitored the resumption of schools as stipulated in the Lagos State Schools Calendar for the Second Term of the 2024/2025 Academic Session.
According to Adekanye, the exercise was necessary to make sure that all hands were on deck to actualise the vision of Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu as established in the THEMES Plus Agenda.
In her words, “We are out here to monitor the resumption of our schools for the second term. It is no longer business as usual. Gone are the days when schools are scanty on the first week of resumption. That is no longer tolerated in our schools. All hands must be on deck to actualise Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s vision of the THEMES Plus Agenda.”
She expressed satisfaction with the attendance at schools visited in Education District II, noting that teachers and students were fully in attendance and ready for business.
“I am highly impressed with the result so far. Teachers and Principals were all in attendance and the students beamed with excitement to be back in school. This shows the level of commitment of teachers in Education District II to optimal service delivery and the readiness of the students for success,” she said.
She expressed her profound gratitude to Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu for his visionary leadership and commitment to the development of education in Lagos State and also extended her appreciation to the Deputy Governor, Dr Kadiri Obafemi Hazmat for his unparalleled support of the education sector in the State.
She further commended the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mr Jamiu Tolani Ali-Balogun, for taking the lead in monitoring school resumption earlier.
