The Indispensable

Posted on April 21, 2021

The inevitable primary need of every man is food. While food security can only be guaranteed via rigorous farming. We must protect, subsidize and invest in food production and encourage our people to embrace the law of sowing and reaping in order to avert national weeping and hunger torments in future.

Farming is the unquestionable pillar, buttressing the survival of humanity. For man, it is the oldest business and survival engagement on planet earth. It must be protected, respected and encouraged to live on if we must move on. It guarantees food sufficiency for self reliance which equals self determination and national pride. It remains a means of livelihood for many (as it affects individual person so it affects the GDP of an individual society). Its deficiency will encourage poverty, malnutrition, inflation, sicknesses and diseases and linger on to beget irrational thoughts, for a hungry man remains an angry man and anything done in anger is never done well.

If our security settings and leaders cannot protect farmers, their crops, farm lands and keep exposing them to Fulani herdsman’s unholy menaces as the herdsmen have adamantly and ignorantly remained committed to destroying farms, properties, kidnapping, killing and raping farmers; we are at best nailing our hopes to the cross of failure on the thorny hill of disunity in the abandoned city of shame, as well as nurturing obstinate weeds of civil disobedience that shall produce fruits of instability in different dimensions, if not eventually lead to war or disintegration of our lovely most populous black nation.

It has been rationally and undebatably proven that hunger begets anger. Anger gives rise to irrational thoughts, while irrational thought could midwife criminal activities. Hunger drives the wolf out of the wood. It obligates saints to consider sins. Hunger is no joke. Hunger is terror! This is why open grazing should be frowned at, criminalized and thrown into the deepest recesses of hell. Open grazing is archaic, irrational and troublesome. It is one of the major medium through which foreign anti peace aliens and illegal arms are being spread all over the nation. It is the camouflage that covers true identities of bad herdsmen’s atrocities. As a nation, It remains the biggest threat to our peaceful coexistence as suspicion of one another has hijacked the mindset of the populace. It must be firmly, impartially and unreservedly resisted, cracked down and obliterated if we gun after surviving and existing as one indivisible nation with same destiny.

Every stakeholder’s hand at every level must be on desk to save our nation and our people from destruction as we ensure food security, freedom of trade and egalitarianism and have it deeply engraved in our hearts that adequate food production remains indispensable to the continuity and the survival of mankind.
