The traditional ruler a.k.a Ezendigbo in Ejigbo Kingdom, Eze Alex Sunday Nwoye, has stated that some top Igbo people are backing and some supposed crooks, parading themselves as Igbo leaders, sold the idea to Chief Solomon Ogbonna Aguene to continue as President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Eze Nwoye stated this on the heels of the crises rocking Ohanaeze Ndigbo Lagos State, where he stated that he has investigated and found out that some people sold the idea to Chief Aguene and went behind to demand for money to help him to continue in office but Aguene snubbed them.
He stated that if Chief Aguene had given them the money they demanded, probably they may not have conducted the election rather they will support Aguene.
Eze Nwoye, who is the Bobaselu of Ejigbo Land and Ochiriozua of Uga town in Anambra State, said that it was those dubious people that are causing the problem to disorganize the Ohanaeze Ndigbo and to rubbish all the good works Aguene did for Ndigbo and Ndieze, that are the real enemies of Ndigbo and they should be exposed.
Eze Nwoye commended Chief Aguene for not giving them any money and insists that they should be exposed so that Ndigbo will know their real enemies and know how to deal with them in the future.
Amb. Nwoye suggested that the Igbo Stakeholders should come together and find a way to broker peace so that Ohanaeze Ndigbo will become one and united as it was in the past.
He explained that if the parties namely, Chief Solomon Aguene and Chief Sunday Ossai groups, will be persuaded to resolve the matter amicably, they can accomodate themselves and move on as brothers.
“Let genuine and contented Igbo leaders in Lagos State and at the national level come together as a matter of urgency and find a way to broker peace so that Ohanaeze will once again become one and united as it was in the past” Nwoye Nwoye said.
Eze Nwoye, a Special Adviser to the President General Association of Council of Ndieze in Diaspora worldwide, Vice Chairman Ndieze Anambra indigenes in Lagos State, regretted that what had been happening in Ohanaeze was unfortunate and needed to be addressed.
He noted that an election was conducted and Chief Ossai won and there was also a Court judgment, which empowered Chief Aguene to continue in office, stressing the need for them to agree to resolve the crisis.
He suggested that Chief Aguene can hold Ohanaeze Political Forum while Chief Ossai could hold sociocultural arm of Ohanaeze to make peace.
He regretted that the selfish interests of some people have thrown Ohanaeze Ndigbo into crisis while stating that it is only the stakeholders that can resolve the matter otherwise the crisis will  continue to linger.
