Traders at Ladipo Market have burgled the shop of a suspect, one Mr. Tochukwu Chukwu who killed his wife, Joy, in cold blood at Oshodi area, carted away goods worth million of Naira from the shop and escaped in Lagos.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the yet to be known criminal minded traders went to his shop at Rowland Plaza in Osoro Street of the market and carted away his goods.

It was gathered that the culprits may have done so believing that Mr. Chukwu will not come out from the case alive, and so they decided to exploit the ugly situation to commit the crime in order to enrich themselves.

However, it took the intervention of the leadership of Ladipo Market union led by their president, Mr. Jude Nwankwo to prevent further looting as they shut the shop and kept it under close supervision.
Some of the traders who were aware of the looting confirmed it and expressed shock over the murder of Mr. Chukwu’s wife and the manner of the looting of his shop.

It was gathered that Mr. Chukwu who dealt on Japanese seats and motor body parts, met Joy while she was selling food at Aguiyi Ironsi Market, they became lovers and started living together before they got married. On the day the incident happened, the traders said they were seen together at the market until evening before they went home. At night that same day, he was to have stabbed her to death for undisclosed purposes.

The dastardly act was exposed by the vigilante group as they suspected his movement with a bucket, with which he was said to have packed the body parts to throw away before he was apprehended.

He was brutally attacked and nearly mobbed to death before the police at Akinpelu Division raced to the scene, rescued him and took him to the police station. The corpse of the deceased was deposited at mortuary for autopsy report.

At the Akinpelu police station, the officers there told our correspondent that the suspect has been transferred to the homicide Department at SCIID, Panti Yaba, Logos.

There were two angles to the suspected reasons behind the murder of the victim. From one angle, it was said to be due to infidelity on the part of the wife as the suspect was always suspicious of the deceased which had resulted to domestic violence before the ugly incident.

On the other hand, it was said that the suspect might have killed the victim for ritual purposes, as he was recently duped by fraudsters who had demanded for the blood of his loved one for money rituals.

However, the autopsy report and police investigations were not yet out. The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Chike Oti said that the picture will be clearer after the conclusion of investigations.

Mr. Chukwu hailed from Ebonyi State but grew up in Ihiala, Anambra State, where his parents resided. He met the deceased who hailed from Enugu State at Ladipo Market, Lagos.
