Two Men Docked In Ejigbo Court Over Alleged Forceful Ejection Of Tenant’s Property Without Court Order

The Lagos State Police Command has arraigned two men, Rasaq Abdullahi Aro, 52, and Ayinde Olakunle Sikiru, 49, before the Magistrate Court sitting at Ejigbo over alleged conspiracy, forceful ejection of tenant’s property without court order and stealing.

The defendants were arraigned in Charge No: MM/F/141/2026 between the Commissioner of Police versus Rasaq Abdullahi Aro and Ayinde Olakunle Sikiru.

The case came up before Magistrate Miss F.R. Ogunkoyode.

The Prosecutor, ASP Simeone Njue, told the court that the alleged offence was committed on 13th February, 2026 at about 14:00hrs at No. 23, Akinsola Road, Lagos, within the Lagos Magisterial District, when the defendants allegedly ejected tenant’s property without any court order.

According to the charge sheet filed by the Police, the defendants and others now at large were alleged to have conspired among themselves to commit misdemeanour to wit conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

Count one stated that Rasaq Abdullahi Aro and Ayinde Olakunle Sikiru and others now at large on the said date, time and place conspired among themselves to commit misdemeanour to wit conduct likely to cause breach of peace, contrary to Section 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Count two alleged that the duo conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by forcefully ejecting the personal properties of one Dauda Ishola, being a tenant at the said address, without court order, contrary to Section 168 (d) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Count three alleged that the defendants stole one Hisense LED television set valued at N450,000, one Samsung phone A23 valued at N350,000, one Rolex wristwatch valued at N25,000 and cash sum of N200,000, all valued at N1,025,000.00, property of one Dauda Ishola, contrary to Section 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The case file was handled by IPO ASP Faith Imoobe and the charge was prepared under the supervision of ACP Agboola Adeniji.

After the charge was read to the defendants, they pleaded not guilty.

The Prosecutor, ASP Simeone Njue, did not oppose bail but asked the court to fix a date for trial to enable the Police prove the allegations against the defendants.

In her ruling, Magistrate Miss F.R. Ogunkoyode granted the defendants bail in the sum of N500,000 each with two sureties who must show evidence of means of livelihood and evidence of tax payment.

The Magistrate ordered that the defendants be remanded in the Correctional Centre at Kirikiri Town, Lagos, pending when they will perfect their bail conditions.

The matter was adjourned to 8th September, 2026 for hearing.

The complainant, Dauda Ishola, had alleged that the defendants forcefully ejected his personal properties from his apartment without any court order and stole his television set, phone, wristwatch and cash.

The Police said investigation is ongoing.

However, the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty by the court of competent jurisdiction.
