Umeoji Dynasty Buries Matriarch In Grand Style

Chief Lady Ngozi Florence Umeoji, the matriarch of the Umeoji Dynasty, has been laid to eternal Rest after a life well spent on earth and passing onto glory at the ripe age of 71.

It is said that the joy of every parents is to see their children become great; this was made evident in the Burial of Lady Ngozi Umeoji. 


The passion and love with which she ensured that her children grow into successful individuals and become prominent saw them roll out drums to ensure a very colourful and befitting burial ceremony for their matriarch.

 
The burial, which lasted for one week long kicked off with Vigil Masses in cities of Abuja the Federal Capital Territory, Enugu and her country home of Aguata and even briefly in the Diaspora. Her devotion to the works of God and the church as well as her numerous charitable deeds to mankind saw the Catholic Church across Nigeria honor her with Requiem Masses in the celebration of her life on earth and to accord her safe passage to eternity. 


A memorable Solemn Burial Mass was held at her home Parish of John de Baptist Church, Ezinifite, Aguata which had in attendance over one hundred interdenominational Bishops with the likes of Their Lordship, Calistus Onaga, Godfrey Onah, Jonas Benson, Cardinal Okpalaeke; and over five hundred Reverend Fathers and Sisters amongst other clergies, with thousands of believers, friends, dependents and associates of her children, including political leaders and captains of industries.


Her remains was finally interred on Friday 9th of June, 2022, at her country home of Aku village in Ezinifite, Aguata LGA, Anambra State. 


Lady Ngozi Florence Umeoji KSJI lived a purposeful life. She was a virtuous woman, a mother, grandmother and friend to many, mostly the ordinary. Her life long devotion to the works of mercy and mankind saw the Church confer on her with Mater Profunditas, (Donec Conveniamus). 


She lived a very peaceful and influential life and was loved by her people of Ezinifite in Agauta for her sterling, honest and charitable lifestyle. Chief Lady Ngozi Umeoji held the Traditional title of Ada gba-Ọdụ 1. 


Her demise was still a rude shock to many who crossed her path and benefited from her many charitable deeds. But many believed that her transition was to be with the maker of Heaven and earth. 


Friends, colleagues, associates and humans from every works of life trooped Ezinifite Aguata to commiserate with the Umeojis for the departure of their matriarch Ada gba-Odu. The likes of Mr. Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Dr. Jim Ovia the Founder and Director of Zenith Bank PLC, numerous Bank Directors and Executive Directors; Innocent Chukwuma, CEO of Innoson Motors, Obinna Iyiegbu of Cubana Group, Governor of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo CFR, Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly Uche Okafor, Senator Uche Ekwunife, Senator Victor Umeh; Oil and Gas moguls, National Assembly members -Senators and House of Representatives, Former Governors from Northern and Southern Nigeria amongst pool of other prominent players in the country. 


The Umeoji family ensured they accorded their Matriarch a befitting Funeral and very colorful to bid her farewell after a life of service and impact. 


Climax of the week long Funeral was the unveiling of Late Sir Andy and Lady Ngozi Umeoji Foundation which will continue the charitable deeds of the Patriarch and Matriarch of the Umeoji dynasty and equally premiere of the movie about the life and times of Lady Ngozi Florence Umeoji KSJI on earth. 


Ada gba-Ọdụ is survived by Children which amongst them are Hon. Chukwuma Umeoji KSJI, the member Representing Aguata Federal Constituency and Lady Dame Adaora Umeoji-Nwokoye, Deputy Managing Director of Zenith Bank PLC amongst successful others, daughter in-laws, grandchildren and several relatives.
