Today, so many Nigerians stayed glued to their televisions listening to Governor Hope Uzodimma deliver a Scintillating lecture during the 52nd Convocation ceremony of the University of Nigerian Nsukka. The event Hall was jam-packed by eminent Nigerians, members of the academia, first class Traditional Rulers,  graduating Students and indeed, Nigerians of different walks of life. Occasions of such was usually attended by academic egg heads and  any guest  invited to deliver lecture  in such occasion must  have intellectual dept to stand in front of such academic giants to talk.
Immediately the Governor’s name was mentioned in that fully packed  hall, his CV read before the crowd and again for some who already know him as a master of his game, the enthusiasm arose, excitement became palpable and there was a high expectation of erudition from him. He mounted the rostrum, granted the microphone, introduced the topic and finally began to pontificate.
He entertained,  educated and thrilled the audience with his postulations, that even the academic gurus at the hall consciously and unconsciously started clapping, halling him and thunderously standing up in ovation for him. The ovation was tumultuous.  Alas! the man Hope Uzodimma did not disappoint. For those who may not have come close to him before, it was like a fresh bread served to them right from the oven. You could see them in the hall looking agape in obvious bewilderment as to the kind of intellectual profundity of Governor Uzodimma.
The Governor  touched practically on every areas of life- academic, political, moral rectitude, technological innovation, life challenges, development issues and need to be patriotic Nigerians not minding the challenges  and so many other things.  He charged the University authority on technological innovation, capacity building and the production of quality graduates. He bemoaned the prevailing societal  decadence among the youths, regretted the low moral values in the society and recalled with nostalgia when Nigerian  University graduates were respected globally because of their quality but however challenged the University authorities on the need to bring back the good old days.
The Governor really was at his best today. It was another opportunity he grabbed to showcae his dept intellectually. He showed today that he is a man of tomorrow. He left nobody in doubt that actually, he is an intellectual power house. As Chief Emmanuel suggested that the lecture paper should be made available to all the town Union leadership in Igboland as a guide, I completely concur that the lecture paper should be made compulsory for all our secondary and tertiary institution students as a compass to navigate. It is simply a master piece.
Truthfully Yours, Nwamkpa Modestus is my name and I approve of this piece.
