The Chairman Senate Committee on Finance, Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Lagos West), has stated that his facilitation of many provision of water projects in his Senatorial District is in fulfillment of his electoral promises made in 2019.

Disclosing this during a monitoring visit to some of the water projects he facilitated in the 2020 Budget at Agege and Ifako-Ijaiye Local Government Areas over the weekend, the Chairman of Senate Committee on Finance stated that so far 6 Solar Power Boreholes have been completed, commissioned and in use by constituents and residents in 6 LGAs out of ten LGAs of his largest Senatorial District in Nigeria.

The solar power boreholes with 6 meter Steel Stanchion tanks, 10million cubic litres capacity tanks, 5million cubic litres per hour mini water treatment plant and multiple delivery points at the base has been completed and in use in Alimosho, Ikeja, Agege, Mushin, Ifako- Ijaiye and Oshodi- Isolo LGAs.

“During the campaign for votes in 2019, an NGO, WaterAid visited my Senatorial District Office at Ikeja and I made a pledge to support policies and actions that will make water available to Nigerians in my District and at the National level. These multi million Naira water projects are in fulfillment of my promises to my constituents and the NGO. They are also coincidentally in line with one of the COVID-19 precautionary safety measures” he stated during the visit.

Senator Adeola stated that in spite of the disruption of COVID-19, he is happy that some of his facilitated projects in the 2020 Budget are being implemented by agencies stressing that in addition to the completed water projects, 20 solar power street lighting projects has been completed in Ajeromi- Ifelodun, Amuwo Odofin, Ojo, Mushin, Alimosho, Ifako- Ijaiye, Oshodi- Isolo, Agege, Ikeja and Badagry.

The Senator representing the largest Senatorial district in Nigeria in terms of population of over 12 million, said he will continue to monitor the implementation of his facilitated projects including the training of 1000 rural fisher men in fish production and business as well as the supply and installation of over ten 500KVA Transformers for his District.
