The CEO of Searite Group, Chief Chukwubuzor Oraeto, has disclosed that the family was spending N2m daily for about 3 weeks in order to save their mother, Mrs.Theresa Adimonye Oraeto Igboaka, who died eventually.
To honour her, Billionaire Cletus Uzozie Oragwa (Zenco), High Chief Francis Nwaogwugwu (Vintage Interior), High Chief Dr Ifeanyi Harry Jeffery, Paschal Chibuike Okechukwu (Cubana Chief Priest), and actor Zuby Micheal, amongst other dignitaries, converged in Abagana, Anambra State, to bid farewell to the late Mrs.Theresa Adimonye Oraeto Igboaka (née Akaogu), mother of Chief Chukwubuzor Oraeto, CEO of Searite Group.
The deceased, who passed away last year after a brief illness, was laid to rest according to her wishes.
A service of song was held on January 8, 2026, at her compound, marking the beginning of her funeral obsequies, followed by a final tribute by the Abagana Anglican community on January 9th.
Friends and well-wishers gathered at Njikoka LGA compound on January 10th to pay their last respects to the departed matriarch and show solidarity with the Igboaka family.
Born on June 8, 1955, into the Akaogu family of Umuesesulum Ward in Orofia village, Abagana, the late Mrs.Igboaka worked as a civil servant in Njikoka Local Government Area for 20 years.
Speaking at the event, Chief Chukwubuzor Oraeto, 3rd son of the deceased, stated, “We spared no cost to give our mom a lavish burial because she deserved it. She lived a fulfilled life. In fact, I had changed my mother’s car three times before buying my own. We made sure she lived in her own house in America and traveled around the world before her death. I trained my mother in the university, and that will tell you how much we appreciated her sacrifice. Our father died when our mother was only 45 years old, and she did all kinds of menial jobs to train 9 children. So, she deserved every love, and she got it. In fact, we were paying #2 million naira everyday for 3 weeks in ICU to save her life, but she didn’t make it. If money could bring her back, she would not be dead. She pleaded with us to bury her immediately after death but also asked us to make her funeral a carnival-like event.”
Similarly, Mr. Peter Igboaka, MD Fadaella Foods Ltd and deceased’s 4th son described his late mother as a philanthropist and very contented person and added that it was from her that he learnt the virtue of contentment.
Speaking further, Mr. Igboaka explained that it would be difficult for anybody to step into the big shoe she left behind.
