Why We Now Call On The God Of Gov. Douye Diri And Also Pray For The Douye Grace
WISDOM ONIEKPAR IKULI

The spiritual realm and human societies are governed by rules and regulations. At both sphere, offenders are punished, while adherents and all those who obey the laws are often rewarded.
When most Christians pray, they call on God of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Elijah, Moses, David and other outstanding prophets and faithful, largely due to the good, worthy, and examplary lives that they lived and the abundant blessings and graces of God that were upon them.
In our contemporary society, we also associate the grace and glory of Almighty God with some outstanding servants of God and other leaders whose lives are worthy of emulation.
For some times I have heard many praying and calling on the God of Douye Diri. I also call the God of Douye Diri most times because of the unimaginable and unbelievable miracles and mysteries around Gov. Douye Diri.
But like father Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Elijah, Moses, and other God servants and prophets of old, Gov. Douye Diri does not hate, envy, jealous, begrudge, keep malice, divide, destroy, or lead followers and all those that Almighty God has entrusted to his care and stewardship astray.
As a trained researcher, I have spent quality time researching on the personality of Gov. Douye Diri, who is the direct opposite of most things associated with contemporary politicians.
Most political leaders weaponize hunger and poverty and use them as instruments of control. They believe in impoverishing their followers, knowing that hunger will always drive people to submission in their quest for survival.
They listen to endless gossip and also make hasty judgements about people based on negative gossip from their unproductive allies and associates who always feel threatened whenever they see productive and highly resourceful minds.
They always alienate themselves from the masses that they hold their commonwealth and patrimony entrust. Most leaders feel that the only way to show that they are in charge is by creating boundaries between them and the masses. They often forget the transient nature of power.
Many resort to primitive acquisition of wealth. They steal monies that their unborn generations can not exhaust. They forget that they were born into abject poverty, but their hard work and divine favour of God helped to change their destinies. Suddenly, they do not want their children to experience suffering and hardship that have inherent advantages. Challenges that ordinary low minds see as suffering most times help to make humans reasonable and productive.
Retrogressive politicians promote division, bitterness, and so much disunity among people who are supposed to live and work together.
They prioritize amassing wealth for themselves and their cronies instead of providing adequate security, infrastructure, and other democratic dividends.
I spent quality time studying the life of Gov. Douye Diri and I discovered through deeper reflection that he is a generational leader. Generational leaders are special human species that Almighty God releases in every one hundred years. They are unique and most times totally different from other humans. God always sends such persons on a special mission.
Abraham Lincoln, Mohatma Gandhi, Lee Kuan Yew, Nelson Madiba, Julius Nyerere, and some other outstanding personalities that have lived are good examples.
Generational leaders always change the status quo and leave behind very positive stories and memories.
Is it not strange that Gov. Douye Diri is like water that does not have any enemies?
If you see anyone begrudging Gov. Douye Diri, ask questions, and you will discover that the problem is from that person.
He does not only preach or promote peace, but he lives at peace with all men.
He does not listen to gossip or judge men based on what people say. Rather, he believes in personal encounters and giving everyone equal opportunities.
He does not discard or write people off. Rather, he believes in giving people other chances knowing the fallible nature of man.
He does not believe in primitive acquisition of wealth. He lives and promotes a simple, humble, and very contented lifestyle.
He believes that the commonwealth and patrimony of the people should be committed to the provision of basic social amenities to promote good life for the people.
Many states now use Bayelsa State as a reference point for states that have good governance systems.
Today, Bayelsa State is the SAFEST STATE in Nigeria due to the effective Community Policing Strategy of the state government.
Gov. Douye Diri believes in merit and competence. He does not believe in favoritism. He does not segregate or promote any form of discrimination.
For anyone to operate at the above realm or enjoy the grace of the God of Douye Diri, he or she must be selfless. The person must be humble and unassuming. The person must be sacrificial. The person must be compassionate about vulnerable people: widows, widowers, orphans, and all those who are suffering different forms of social disabilities.
Above all, you must be passionate about peace, growth, and development. You must hate primitive acquisition of wealth. It is only a glutton that will want to eat every delicacy that is served at the large breakfast, lunch, or dinner table.
Finally, as we conclude this piece, it is pertinent to imbibe the spirit of selfless service to our great state and humanity. In human history, while the world records the deeds of every human, there is always a place for good and bad, but the world immortalizes and gives greater attention to the names of great people who lived positive and very impactful lives.
