In a bold demonstration of his unwavering commitment to staff welfare and institutional efficiency, the Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has presented ten brand-new official vehicles to the management staff of the Council.

The vehicles included six (6) SUVs for Heads of Departments (HoDs), three (3) Toyota Sienna buses dedicated to the Revenue Department, and one (1) fully equipped Hi-Level Ambulance to strengthen the operations of the Health Department.

This strategic investment is aimed at enhancing productivity, improving service delivery, and boosting internally generated revenue across the Local Government.

The commissioning ceremony was performed by the Chief of Staff to Hon James Abiodun Faleke, represented by Dr. Bayo ‘Ayo, who commended Comrade Dauda for prioritizing the welfare of staff and creating an enabling environment for effective governance at the grassroots level.

In his brief address, the Ikeja Chairman appreciated the management staff for their unwavering cooperation and dedication since the inception of his administration. He described the gesture as “just the tip of the iceberg,” assuring that many more impactful initiatives are on the way.

He emphasized that the vehicles, particularly those allocated to the Revenue Department, should serve as motivation for improved performance and increased revenue generation for the Council.

The Chairman also assured that members of the Legislative Arm will soon receive official vehicles to further enhance their oversight functions and mobility in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.

Also present at the ceremony was the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore, who joined in presenting and celebrating this milestone achievement.
