WIGA Convener Commends Gov Soludo on Anambra State Tree Planting & Urban Forestation Initiative

The Convener, Women Initiative for Greater Anambra (WIGA), Hon Amaka Obi, has commended the Anambra State Governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo CFR, on the launching of Anambra State Tree Planting and Urban Forestation Campaign Initiative, which was performed by Dr Nonye Soludo at Awka capital territory. 
While commending Gov Soludo led administration on the laudable Initiatives, she called on key stakeholders and environment enthusiasts for continued advocacy to promote the culture of tree planting in order to create a sustainable ecosystem.
Hon Amaka noted that Gov Soludo led administration is committed to implementing initiatives that will promote environmental sustainability, including:
1. Tree planting campaigns
2. Waste management programmes
3. Conservation of natural resources
4. Promotion of renewable energy sources
She equally assured that the support group, WIGA, will support the campaign for “One house two trees” campaign initiative, highlighted the importance of trees in the green environment drive noting that trees are pivotal to combating climate change, enhancing ecological resilience, improving air quality through oxygen cycle and fostering a greener urban environment.
