Woman, 30, Sent To Prison For Stabbing Girl, 15, With Kitchen Knife

A 30-year old woman, Eucharia Ndigwe, has been arrested in Lagos State for allegedly stabbing a 15-year old girl, Miss Florence Aniemene, with a kitchen knife and injuring her in the process.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Simeon Oyemofe Street, Ijanikin area of Lagos, where they reside.
The woman has been charged before the Ogba Magistrate Court for assault.
The Police did not state the relationship between the defendant and the girl nor why she inflicted such injury on her.
According to Police sources, the defendant had a disagreement with the girl over an undisclosed matter and in the process, she took the knife, stabbed her on the body and injured her.
The matter was reported to the Police in the area and she was arrested. She was later transferred to the Gender Section of the Lagos State Police Command for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
After thoroughly interrogating her at the Gender Section, the Police found her culpable and subsequently charged her before the Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
However, she pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, DSP Kehinde Ajayi, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment.
She was remanded in custody at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions while the matter was adjourned till 27th June, 2023, for mention.
