Woman, 34, Arrested For Using Fake Bank Alert To Pay N3.2m Children’s School Fees

The Police intelligence team has uncovered and arrested a 34-year old woman, Mrs. Monsuru Balogun, for allegedly swindling the school management to the tune of N3.2m by using fake bank alerts to pay her children’s school fees. 
 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that Police operatives from Area G Command, Ogba, arrested Mrs. Balogun after the management of AB 10 School, located at Ogba area, discovered the alleged bank fraud, contacted the Police and it was traced to her.
Thus, Mrs. Balogun was arrested and detained at the Command for interrogation over the conduct having discovered that between 2nd January to August 2022, Mrs. Balogun used fake bank alert to pay school fees for her children to the school’s Sterling Bank account.
During interrogation, she reportedly admitted to have done so by transferring the fake alert to the school’s bank account.
The Police found her culpable and subsequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrates Court for stealing.
She pleaded not guilty when she was arraigned.
The prosecutor, Inspector Akinleye Funmilola, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.O. Hughes, granted her bail in the sum of N1m with two sureties in like sum.
The matter was adjourned for mention while she was remanded in custody at the Correctional Centre, Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
