Woman, 51, Sent To Prison For Biting House Maid & Threatening To Kill Her With Kitchen Knife

A 51-year old woman, Okoye Oluchi, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly biting her 15-year old house maid, Miracle Friday and threatening to kill her with a kitchen knife before she managed to escape. 
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Olukosi Street, Shasha area of Lagos, where they reside.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ikotu Division. The woman was then arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct.
The Police found her culpable for the alleged offence against the victim after thorough interrogation and consequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.
County 1: That you, Okoye Oluchi ‘f, on 15th July, 2024, at about 0800 at No. 19 Olukosi Street, Shasha – Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did assault one Friday Miracle ‘f 15 years old, by giving human bite on her shoulder and inflicting injuries on her body, thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 10(a), of Child’s Right Law of Lagos State, 2015.”
COUNT II: That you, Okoye Oluchi ‘f, on same date, ti place in the Aforesaid Magisterial District, did threaten one Friday Miracle ‘f 15 years old with a kitchen knife and committed an offence contrary to and punishable under the Lagos State Criminal Laws , 2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector John Iberedem, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. E. Kubenije, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 28th August, 2024, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
