Woman, 52, Docked For Seizing Aged Mother’s N239m Property Documents

A 52-year-old woman, Osaige Celestina Subar, has been arrested and charged in Lagos State for allegedly seizing the documents of a property worth N239m belonging to her aged mother, Felicia Kehinde Iyoha.
P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Delta Street, Imude, Oto-Awori LCDA, Lagos State.
The woman is facing charges for allegedly withholding documents related to her mother’s properties worth a staggering N239m included buildings, plots of land, a shopping mall, vehicles, LT Bus among others allegedly belonging to her aged mother, Felicia Kehinde Iyoha.
According to the Police, the woman was given the documents for safe keeping and when the mother needed the documents back, she refused to release them to her for undisclosed reasons.
The matter was reported to the Police at Ilemba Hausa Division. The operatives moved into action, eventually arrested the woman and detained her at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct against the complainant.
While being interrogated, the woman admitted to have received the documents and still refused to bring them out to the complainant despite efforts by the Police.
Thus, the Police found her culpable and charged her before the Ojo Magistrate Court for the alleged offence which attracts several years of imprisonment?
Part of the charges read:
“That you, Osaige Celestina Subar, on the same date, time and  place in the aforementioned Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a  manner that is likely to cause a breach of the peace by refusing to hand over the documents of various landed properties belonging to your aged mother, one Felicia Kehinde lyoha’, that she kept in your possession to her on demand, and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 168 (d) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.”
However, she pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Inspector Esther Adesulu, asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.
The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. O.M. Ogun, granted her bail with two sureties, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and tax payment while addresses will be verified by the Court.
The matter was adjourned till 16th December, 2025, for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
