Woman Docked For Pouring Pepper On Another Woman’s Face During Quarrel

A 38-year old woman, Happiness Patrick, has been arrested and charged  in Lagos State for allegedly pouring pepper on the face of her rival, Blessing Okoro, when they had a quarrel.

 

P.M.EXPRESS reports that the incident happened at Oremeji Street, Ilupeju area of Lagos, where they reside.

 

According to the Police, the suspect, Happiness and the victim, Blessing, had a disagreement over an undisclosed matter, which led to exchange of words and in the process, Happiness brought out the pepper and poured it on the victim’s face.

 

The matter was reported to the Police at Ilupeju Division. The 38-year old Happiness was arrested and detained at the station for interrogation over her alleged conduct which caused injury on the victim.

 

After interrogation, the Police found her culpable and consequently charged her before the Ogba Magistrate Court for the alleged offence, which attracts several years of imprisonment.

 

She however, pleaded not guilty.

 

The prosecutor, Supol Akeem Raji, then asked the Court to give a date for hearing since she pleaded not guilty to enable the Police to prove that she actually committed the alleged offence.

 

The Presiding Magistrate, Mrs. B.O. Osunsanmi, granted her bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum, who must show evidence of means of livelihood and addresses verified by the Court.

 

The matter was adjourned for mention while the defendant was remanded in custody at the correctional center at Kirikiri town, Lagos, pending when she will perfect her bail conditions.
