Woman To Perform Ritual For Biting Man At Oba’s Palace

A 30-year old woman, Mariam Adewole has reportedly desecrated the palace of a monarch in Lagos by engaging a man, Ayuba Haruna in a fight and inflicting injury on him.

The incident happened at the palace of the respected Oba of Akesan where Mariam went with one Ojo Musa for an undisclosed mission.

P.M.EXPRESS reports that by her action Mariam had committed what was considered as sacrilege and will have to undergo cleansing for committing such abomination in the presence of the monarch inside the palace.

According to the residents, if Mariam did not perform the cleansing ritual for what she had committed, calamity may befall her in future. It was gathered that both Mariam and victim came to the palace where they had disagreement that led Mariam to use a stick and hit Haruna.
When the stick was taken from her, she then grabbed Haruna’s hand and inflicted a deep injury with a bite. The victim bled profusely and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

However, both Mariam and her accomplice Musa were handed over to the police at Igando Division and they were charged before the Ejigbo Magistrates court for assaulting Haruna.

They pleaded not guilty.

Thus, the Presiding Magistrate, Mr. L.K.J. granted them bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The court prosecutor, Mr. G. Simon did not object to their bail.

They were remanded in prison custody pending when they will perfect their bail condition.
The matter was adjourned till 2 April, 2018.

P.M.EXPRESS gathered that despite the court action, the suspects will still have to perform the rituals in form of appeasement according to the tradition and culture in Yoruba land for desecrating the palace.
